Four people were taken to local hospitals Tuesday after a five-vehicle chain reaction crash on state Route 28 in Shaler Township, Shaler Township Police Department Lt. J. Sean Frank said. The accident closed down all northbound lanes of Route 28 near Exit 3 for Evergreen Road and Exit 4 for Butler Street for several hours. All lanes were reopened by 5:45 p.m.
