Derry Twp. man killed in Unity Twp. crash

Speed is believed to have played a role in a Westmoreland County crash that killed a Derry Township man Friday evening, according to the Westmoreland County coroner’s office.

McMunn was driving a 2004 Toyota Avalon north on Charles Houck Road when he failed to stop at the intersection, according to the release.

Bash-Nied Funeral Home of Delmont will be in charge of the funeral arrangements, according to the report.
George McMunn III smashed into a pickup truck at the intersection of Charles Houck Road and State Route 981. He was transported to a local medical center where he was declared dead. Two people were in the pickup truck that was struck by McMunn's car, and their conditions have not yet been released. This accident is still under investigation.
