Carrie Thomas, 45, Michael Bakosh, 32, killed, after their cars collide head-on along Fifth Avenue in White Oak, Pennsylvania

Thursday night, two cars hit head-on along Fifth Avenue in White Oak, killing both drivers. Police said Michael Bakosh was driving south towards McKeesport -- speeding, and weaving in and out of traffic. Investigators said he crossed four lanes of traffic and hit a 45-year-old woman head-on, killing her. A friend of one of the drivers, said the tragic accident could have been avoided. A friend was with Bakosh a couple hours before his friend died. "He told me he had taken some prescription medication -- a lot more than he should have -- and I noticed he was really drowsy. I told him he shouldn't have been driving," the friend said. But the friend said Bakosh didn't listen, and the 32 year-old man got in his Lincoln to drive home. "We've all done things like that before, but this time it was one time too many and this happened. I just feel so horrible why I'm not trying to do something more about stopping him from driving," said the friend. The friend came to the scene Friday morning to say goodbye to his friend and pay his respects to the second driver, a woman he never knew, Carrie Thomas from McKeesport, who died after Bakosh hit her Mercedes. "Hopefully people drive a little safer on this road. Don't let your friends drive if they shouldn't be, no matter what," Wharton said. Police said though it was raining, weather wasn't a factor. "It's not until something like this happened that you really realize if you talked to them, took their keys or took that extra step to try and stop this from happening, maybe two people wouldn't be dead right now," Wharton said. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner said both autopsies were performed Friday. Toxicology reports are still pending
