Ariana Arzon survived the accident in Goose Creek. But her friends and family still blame first responder Robert Semashko for leaving the injured teenager in a ditch.
A South Carolina dad is having trouble forgiving the drunk firefighter who nearly killed his 14-year-old daughter.
Goose Creek police say 50-year-old Robert Semashko, a civilian firefighter, was out drinking with his wife on Sunday when he decided to get behind the wheel. He slammed into Ariana Arzon while she was walking home from a church event with her friends.
But instead of staying to help, the trained first responder reportedly fled the scene.
Semashko is a civilian firefighter at Joint Base Charleston, a U.S. military facility. According to a police report, Semashko and his 53-year-old wife, Donna Semashko, were both in the car at the time of the accident.
A police dash cam video shows an officer arresting Donna Semashko, who initially said she was driving to cover up for her husband.
