Beres said 45-year-old Tammy Brown was traveling east on SC 261 just before midnight when she hit the rear of another vehicle also traveling east, causing the vehicle to run off the road and strike a tree.
Woman charged with DUI in deadly Clarendon Co crash
The driver died at the scene, and the passenger was airlifted to a local hospital. Reports indicate both victims were not wearing their seat belts.
A Manning woman who was involved in a fatal crash Saturday night was charged with felony DUI, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. The driver of the vehicle, 34-year-old Maurelio Deleon, died and a passenger was transported to a hospital. The passenger's condition is not known. Tammy Brown was first taken to the hospital, then to the Clarendon County Detention Center on two counts felony DUI and for transporting an alcohol container with the seal broken.
