Deadly crash victim discovered on Christmas morning

He was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle, according to troopers.

Newberry County crash claims 1 life

Lance Coporal Tony Keller reported that a Daniel Robert Britton, 53, of Chappells was traveling eastbound, when his 2006 Kia ran off the road and down an embankment and eventually struck a tree. 
One man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on S.C. 34 in Newberry County on Christmas Eve around 6 p.m. Wednesday, although the man wasn't found until Christmas Day around 7 a.m. when the man's sister found him after he didn't return home from a shopping trip Wednesday night. The vehicle was found down an embankment and due to darkness and rainy weather, no one located the car until daylight. The driver was Daniel Robert Britton, 53, of Chappells. Britton was traveling east on S.C. 34 when his vehicle ran off the right side of the road, down an embankment, and into a tree, at which time he was ejected from the vehicle.  He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
