Pedestrian killed after being hit by SUV in an SC road, highway patrol says

One person was killed and another was injured Thursday night after a car hit a pedestrian in Richland County. Just before 9 p.m., a 2002 Chevrolet SUV was driving north on Fairfield Road, about six miles north of Columbia, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Troopers: One dead after vehicle hits pedestrian in Richland County

Troopers say a Chevrolet SUV and a pedestrian were traveling north on Fairfield Road when the SUV hit the person in the roadway causing the person to hit two parked vehicles. The driver of the SUV was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for injuries. The pedestrian was pronounced dead.
