Southern said the minivan pulled in front of the rig at an intersection. Both victims were trapped in the vehicle.
Southern said the man and woman died at the scene. Their names have not been released.

The two people killed Thursday afternoon in a crash near Eastover were James Arthur Peagler, 80, of Dalzell and his sister, Jonell Peagler Weatherly, 77 of Oswego, Richland County coroner Gary Watts said in a news release. Thursday was Weatherly’s birthday.
