Washington was walking south on Nazareth Road when they were hit by the vehicle, which also was traveling south, Southern said. The vehicle then drove away.
West Columbia woman charged in hit-and-run that killed 21-year-old
Ashley Burkhard, 33, of West Columbia, was arrested Sunday and charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, according to Lance Cpl. Matt Southern of the S.C. Highway Patrol.
