The collision happened just after 4 p.m. on Blackstock Road near Bradford Road in the Roebuck community, the coroner said. Before the accident, a deputy and a trooper with the South Carolina Highway had tried to stop a driver who had turned right from Reidville Road onto E. Blackstock Road, "with a loud exhaust and squealing tires," Bobo said.
