Truck driver dies in Saturday morning Darlington County crash
The 6:20 a.m. crash happened in the eastbound lanes when a 2016 Volvo tractor-trailer ran off the right side of the road, side-swiped an unoccupied, disabled car that was not in the traffic lanes, and then hit several trees, said Lance Cpl. Nick Pye of the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The truck sideswiped a 2012 Honda Sedan that was unoccupied and disabled by the side of the highway then crashed into a group of trees, Pye said.

The tractor-trailer driver was identified as Asim Balcinovic, 53, of Summerset, Texas, according to the Darlington County Coroner.
