Five people were sent to the hospital Thursday afternoon after a downtown crash, which involved a MATA bus.
Five people were sent to the hospital Thursday afternoon after a downtown crash, which involved a MATA bus.
At least five ambulances responded to the wreck that occurred at Third Street and Union Avenue. According to MATA officials, the bus was traveling east on Union when it was hit by another vehicle running a red light.
The vehicle struck the side of the bus.
Four passengers were sent to the hospital, but their conditions are not known. One woman is critically injured at Regional One Health, formerly known as The MED.
MATA is investigating this incident but do not believe the bus is at fault.
