Woman killed in hit-and-run, driver caught and charged
Investigators said Rhodes was attempting to cross the street on Hickory Hill when she was hit by Williams’ vehicle. She was thrown in the air by the impact in the path of another vehicle and hit that vehicle. Officers said Williams never stopped.

Shelby County Jail records show 49-year-old Walter Williams was being held Sunday on charges that include vehicular homicide, driving under the influence, public intoxication and leaving the scene of an accident involving death.
