Simon Rodriguez, 32, killed and two people injured in car accident on East Koenig Lane in Austin, Texas

One person was killed, and a woman suffered critical injuries after a head-on crash Tuesday in Central Austin. Simon Rodriguez, 32, collided with the woman's SUV at approximately 5 p.m. on East Koenig Lane, after Rodriguez crossed into oncoming traffic while passing other vehicles. Rescuers had to cut the roof off her car to get the woman out. She was transported by helicopter to the University Medical Center at Brackenridge with critical injuries. Rodriguez' passenger was treated for non-life threatening injuries. Rodriguez was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
