An 18-wheeler driver escaped with non-life threatening injuries Friday afternoon after he unsuccessfully attempted to beat an oncoming freight train while crossing Union Pacific tracks at Krueger Canyon Road.

An 18-wheel semi truck driver sustained minor injuries after his truck was hit by a Union Pacific train as he tried to cross unprotected tracks at the 400 block of Krueger Canyon Road in New Braunfels, Texas. The truck was hit on the passenger side, and the train crossing was marked only by a stop sign.
