Victim in Fatal Pedestrian Accident Identified by Medical Examiner
It was just before 9 p.m. when police say Estrada was walking across Staples Street between Carroll Lane and Texan Trail and was struck by a vehicle. She was not in the crosswalk. Officers say the driver stayed at the scene and was cooperating. The driver told police that it was dark and Estrada had not become visible until the impact.
