Father Arrested After Girl Saved From Hot Car

Authorities in Mesquite were forced to break open the window of a car on Tuesday afternoon when a child was found locked inside. The incident happened at around 11:30 a.m. at the AMC Mesquite 30 movie theater, located in the 19900 block of the LBJ Freeway.

A 2-year-old girl was found locked in a hot car at around 11:30 a.m. in front of the AMC Mesquite 30 movie theater. The car was not on and the windows were rolled up. Witnesses saw the child and called police, who broke open the window. Shortly after the girl's father, 46-year-old Leroy Price, came out of the theater, saying that he thought he dropped the girl off at daycare. He was arrested for several outstanding traffic warrants and will be charged with more offenses soon. Fortunately the child was only in the car for 15 minutes and was not harmed.
