2 dead, 10 injured in crash east of El Paso involving band

The bus driver, 31-year-old Gregory Hoke of Round Rock, and the semi-truck driver, 64-year-old Steven Cunningham of Las Cruces, were both pronounced dead on the scene. All 10 passengers on the bus were injured and taken to various hospitals. Officials say the private bus, carrying members of Los Angeles-based rock band The Ghost Inside, was driving west on the highway when it struck an eastbound semitrailer head on for an unknown reason. Texas Department of Public Safety officials say the accident occurred on U.S. Highway 62/180 near mile marker 63 around 9:15 a.m.

Topeka man injured in crash in near El Paso, Texas

Wilden, 31, was on a tour bus that collided with a semi truck east of El Paso, Wilden’s father Joe Wilden said. A Topeka man, Nathan Wilden, was severely injured in a head-on collision in Texas Thursday. Both drivers were killed and 10 others were injured in crash. The crash occurred at about 9:16 a.m. mountain time on U.S. 62/180 east of El Paso near a Boarder Patrol checkpoint, Art Martinez, communications operator of the Texas Department of Public Safety, said. In a phone call Saturday afternoon, Joe said Wilden was in surgery having screws placed in his spine.
