UPDATE: One person died after motorcycle incident in Lower Valley
El Paso Police is investigating a serious crash involving a motorcycle. The incident happened last night at Phoenix Dr. and Hawkins Blvd. in the Lower Valley, near El Paso Community college’s Valle Verde Campus.

Police originally said one person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. A family member confirmed with ABC-7 the victim was Seville Gaines.
It's unclear if he is the same person who taken to the hospital.

According to officials, on Feb. 1 at approximately 9:56 p.m., 24-year-old Seville Gaines was reportedly traveling southbound on Hawkins at a high rate of speed when he hit the center median near the intersection of Phoenix while failing to negotiate a curve in the road.

Investigators believe speed was a significant factor in the crash.
Police say Gaines wore a helmet but died the next day from his injuries.
