8 injured as vehicle plows into crowd at Texas mud racing event

The El Paso County Sheriff's Department said in a statement that at 6:35 p.m., a vehicle left the mud track and crashed through a guard rail and into spectators.

Eight people were taken to a hospital, including three spectators in critical condition, the sheriff’s department said in a statement. Willie Valadez Ramirez, 21, was pronounced dead at the hospital and two people remained in critical but stable condition Monday, according to the department.

The law firm claims Willie Valadez Ramirez, 24, was killed in June of 2021 after a "dragster left the track and went into the crowd of spectators" and his parents Adelia Valadez, and Francisco Valadez have filed a lawsuit.
