Child killed, five others injured in NW Harris County crash

A child was killed and five others were taken to the hospital after a car crash Saturday night in northwest Harris County. The incident occurred around 8:40 p.m. in the 2800 block of West Mount Houston Road near TC Jester Boulevard. Harris County Sheriff’s deputies say a minivan with a family of six was traveling eastbound on West Mount Houston Road, on their way to a go-kart facility when the driver attempted to turn left from a moving lane of traffic.

BABY DIES FROM INJURIES IN WEEKEND CRASH THAT KILLED 10-YEAR-OLD BROTHER

Juan Esparza was turning his Toyota Sienna minivan into the parking lot of a go-kart facility when the driver of a BMW SUV slammed into the back of their vehicle. With Esparza inside the vehicle were his wife and four children.

Her 10-year-old brother, Brian Esparza, died at a hospital as a result of his injuries. Investigators say neither child was wearing a seat belt at the time.

Officers say the baby was being held at the time of the accident.

INTOXICATED DRIVER KILLS ONE

Jose De Jesus Osorio Albarranis charged with the offense of Intoxication Manslaughter and remains in the custody of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
