2 injured in Eastex Freeway wrong-way crash
As of 5 a.m. the southbound lanes remained closed at the 610 Loop, with traffic being diverted onto the loop. The freeway fully reopened just before 5:30 a.m.
At around 3:45 a.m. Tuesday in the 5500 block of the inbound Eastex Freeway near Cavalcade, a silver Chevrolet was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes when he slammed into a tan Toyota Camry. The driver of that car, so far identified only as a 23-year-old man, and the 33-year-old male wrong-way driver, were both rushed to Ben Taub General Hospital. Both drivers were injured and taken to the hospital and are reportedly in stable condition, but the driver of the Toyota was more seriously hurt.
After an injury car accident, take these steps to help the recovery process
When someone has been injured in a car crash, it's hard to know what to do to help. Injured people need appropriate medial treatment, but they also need to have their civil and legal rights protected.
After a serious crash, several steps need to be taken, including dealing with the insurance companies, tracking and documenting lost income from missed work, coordinating medical bill payments, and handling an insurance claim.
