The driver and a child passenger were transported by Aerocare to the University Medical Center. The passenger who died was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said a Chevrolet Equinox was southbound on Lamb County Road 115 and failed to yield the right of way to an oncoming train.

Three-year-old David Ojeda, the statement reads, is the second fatality in the crash that occurred around 11 a.m. two miles east of Sudan off U.S. 84.
