Hobbs Man Killed in Andrews County Traffic Accident Early Friday Morning
Authorities said the pickup truck struck a horse that was in the roadway. The horse's body then crashed into the second semi-truck.
The driver of the pickup truck lost control, crossed into the northbound lane, and collided with the first semi-truck.
The DPS identified the driver of the pickup as Gary L. Heady, 60, of Hobbs, New Mexico. Mr. Heady was pronounced deceased at the accident scene.
The drivers of both semi-trucks were transported to Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews for non-incapacitating injuries.
