A China Spring man is dead and four others are injured after a two car crash. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident happened Friday at 11:42 p.m. A 2005 Mini Cooper collided head-on with a 2011 Chevy HHR, on the southbound frontage road of Highway 6, just south of McLaughlin Rd. The driver of the Mini Cooper, 42-year-old John Bumgardner, failed to yield as the Chevy HHR was legally trying to enter Highway 6, says Wilson. Bumgardner was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Chevy HHR, 23-year-old James Esquivel is currently in serious condition at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center. Esquivel's passengers-- Daisy Jaimes, 23, Annalysa Esquivel, 4, and James Esquivel Jr., 1 were also injured. Jaimes and the 4-year-old were transported also to Hillcrest and are listed in stable condition. James Eqsuivel Jr. was transported to Scott & White Memorial Hospital and is listed in stable condition. Bumgardner's body was taken to the Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office for autopsy. The investigation is ongoing.
