According to a Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. at the scene, shortly after 2 a.m., Sunday, May 14, a crash involving several vehicles shut down the freeway. At least two people were killed, and several people were hospitalized.
Victims identified in double fatality crash early Sunday morning
According to Sgt. Couch, a truck tractor towing a semi-trailer was traveling northbound on U.S. 287 and approached the previous crash scene, where the Suburban was parked on the right shoulder and the Tahoe was disabled in the left lane.
