1 killed, 1 critically injured in separate auto-pedestrian accidents

A woman was killed in an auto-pedestrian accident and another man was critically injured in a second auto-pedestrian accident where police are still searching for the driver. A woman died after being hit by a Comcast utility truck while she was crossing a crosswalk Monday evening. A woman was crossing the street at 2940 E. 3300 South around 6 p.m. with her friend when she was struck by a Comcast utility truck, according to Unified Police Department Lt. Justin Hoyal. The utility truck was traveling eastbound at the time of the accident.
Linda Olsen, 64, of Mill Creek was crossing a busy street with a friend when she was struck and killed by a Comcast utility truck. The accident took place Monday evening at the intersection of 3300 south 3000 east, which residents say they have been complaining about for over a year. The intersection that crosses six lanes is dark and has no traffic lights. Residents have been vocal about this being a trouble area, pushing UDOT to perform a couple feasibility studies.
