An unidentified elderly woman, sitting in the car's back seat, died at the scene. The driver and another passenger in the car were taken to the hospital in serious condition.
The driver of the SUV, who reportedly was being investigated for possibly driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, was uninjured.
