"A lot of bad circumstances coming together at once. The streets are rain soaked, that makes it darker. It also makes your headlights less effective." Police say alcohol may have played a role as well, but they are still investigating.

Bushman, who was not wearing a helmet, died at the scene. The crash occurred about 1 a.m., and that stretch of 3300 South is not well lit, Hansen said.
A fatal bike accident in Millcreek happened on S. 1600 East at approximately 1 a.m. Saturday. A cyclist was traveling eastbound on 33rd S. when a black BMW hit the bicyclist, throwing him about 100 feet. The cyclist was pronounced deceased at the crash site. Police believe weather or poor lighting played a role in the crash.
