N. Salt Lake boy dies of injuries after being hit by car
Police Chief Craig Black said the identity of the boy, hit by a Dodge Charger about 5 p.m. Monday while he was running east across U.S. 89 near 870 North, was being withheld pending notification of his extended family.

Raymond Zalas was attempting to cross the busy five-lane road in the middle of the street, about a half-mile south of 2600 South where there is a crosswalk, at 4:45 p.m. Monday, said North Salt Lake Police Chief Craig Black. The speed limit at that part of the road is 45 mph.
