Vermont State Police have confirmed that a Connecticut man has died due to injuries sustained in a snowmobile crash Saturday afternoon.
Connecticut man killed in Vermont snowmobile accident
Authorities say 47-year-old Keith Whitney of New Haven was thrown from the snowmobile about 5:15 p.m. Saturday on the No. 52 trail in Wheelock.
Authorities responded to a 911 call of a crash on the Vermont Association of Snow Travelers Corridor 52 trail near Fall Brook Road in Wheelock on Saturday. They found a man who had crashed into a metal cable hung between two trees in a driveway. Keith Whitney, 47, of East Haven, Connecticut, was taken to the Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The investigation into this crash continues.

There could be a requirement
There could be a requirement that cable and chains across driveways abutting snowmobile paths have No Trespassing signs posted at each end of the cable, and marker balls on the cable as well to prevent this from ever happening gain. That cable must have been attached very well. Prayers for the family of the rider, and the family who owns the property
