Woman charged in fatal Springfield accident.

Police said they’ve charged a 20-year-old Springfield woman with involuntary manslaughter after a fatal crash early Sunday.

Police said they have charged a 20-year-old Springfield woman with involuntary manslaughter after a fatal crash early Sunday.

Luz F. Inscoe of Lamar Drive was driving a 2002 Volkswagen Cabriolet northbound on Rolling Road near Terra Grande Avenue when she apparently lost control of the vehicle, according to Fairfax County police. The vehicle traveled across the roadway and hit a telephone pole. She was ejected from the vehicle and suffered injuries that were not life-threatening.

Vuthea Hiep, also 20, of Rose Garden Lane in Springfield was riding as a passenger in the vehicle and was seriously injured. He was taken to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Police said they believe speed and alcohol may have been factors in the crash, which is under investigation.
