Chong Sik Kim, 84, killed, after he is run over, after slipping on ice in his driveway in Springfield, by his 72-year-old wife, who did not see him.

An 84-year-old man has died after slipping on ice outside his home and being accidentally run over by his wife.

Fairfax County Police say the accident occurred shortly after 10 a.m. Wednesday. Chong Sik Kim of Springfield walked out to the mailbox at the end of his driveway on Hooes Road and slipped on some ice.

At the same time, police say, Kim's 72-year-old wife was backing the couple's Lexus from the garage. Police say she did not see her husband and backed over him.

Kim was taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police say no charges will be filed.
