Charles L. Germon, 31, killed and one injured in head-on car wreck on Route 1 in Hanover, Virginia

The Hanover Sheriff's Office is confirming that one person has died and another is in the hospital after a crash on Route 1 Tuesday morning. Investigators say a vehicle traveling north crossed the center line into the southbound lane, hitting a second vehicle head-on. The driver of the second vehicle died at the scene. The driver of the first vehicle was transported to VCU Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The crash happened around 6:35 a.m. near Cross Corner Road.
