2 from Md. killed in Va. plane crash at race track

Virginia State Police say two people from Maryland were killed in a plane crash at Virginia International Raceway. The crash occurred Friday afternoon in Alton. Police say no one on the ground was injured. The two who were killed were the pilot and a passenger. State police identified the victims on Saturday as 46-year-old Jon Couch of Annapolis, Maryland and his mother, 72-year-old Frances G. Couch, also of Annapolis.

A preliminary report says the pilot of a plane that crashed at Virginia International Raceway was attempting an aerobatic move at time of the fatal incident.
