State police release name of Roanoke woman who died in I-581 hit and run
It happened around 10 p.m. on Wednesday night on I-581 North, between Orange Ave. and the Liberty Street Bridge.
Lori Diane Alls, 44, of Roanoke, was taken to the hospital, where she died. State police say she lost control, spun around and hit a construction barrier on the left side of the roadway. She was not hurt in that crash, but when she attempted to cross the roadway, she was hit by a vehicle.

They say a Buick Century was found at a residence in the City of Roanoke Tuesday evening. State Police say they have also identified the individual who was driving the Buick the night of the crash and appropriate charges will be determined by the Roanoke City Commonwealth Attorney's Office.
State police are looking for a small passenger car, small truck, or SUV with headlight, marker light, right front fender and passenger mirror damage. Any insurance companies or body shops that service a vehicle with such damage should notify authorities.
