Irma Taracena, 61, dies after being hit by Sukhwinder Singh Jhuj, 67, while crossing Leesburg Pike in Falls Church, Virginia

Irma Taracena, 61, of Munson Hill Road, died Thursday after being hit by a car while crossing Leesburg Pike in Falls Church, Virginia. The incident occured near Row Street around 9:45 p.m. on October 16, 2014 when 67-year-old Sukhwinder Singh Jhuj, of Manassas Park, hit her and drove away from the scene. The area Taracena tried to cross was not well lit and she was not inside of a crosswalk. Jhuj was located by police shortly after the accident, when he was reportedly driving back to the scene. Jhuj was charged with failure to rend aid. Taracena was taken to a local hospital, where she died.
