An Oak Harbor girl, 17, died and three other people were injured in a two-car collision on Highway 20 at Gibralter Road Thursday evening.
The Oct. 31 crash on Highway 20 that killed one Oak Harbor teenager near Anacortes has now claimed the life of her twin sister. Janesah Goheen, 17, died Monday at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where she was taken for treatment of severe injuries after a crash on Fidalgo Island with a 2006 Ford Mustang. Her sister, Janeah, died at the scene of the accident near Gibraltar Road. Meanwhile, a man accused of vehicular homicide in the first sister’s death is expected to face additional charges. The sisters and a friend were on their way to Seattle to see haunted houses for Halloween. The friend, identified as Alysha Pickler, 18, also of Oak Harbor, was treated and released from Island Hospital in Anacortes. Ira Blackstock, 52, of Oak Harbor, was driving southbound on Highway 20 approaching the intersection of Miller Road and Gibraltar Road when he lost control of his car in a curve, crossed the center line, and struck the 1993 Acura Vigor that Janesah Goheen was driving. Blackstock, who was also injured in the crash, was charged with one count of vehicular homicide for the death of Janeah Goheen, and is currently booked into the Skagit County Jail for investigation of two additional counts of vehicular assault. One of those charges will now be amended to vehicular homicide. Blackstock posted bail on the initial charges, but Francis said Blackstock voluntarily surrendered and returned to custody facing an amended bail of $250,000. Troopers are still awaiting word on the cause of death.
