State Patrol recommends homicide charge in fatal accident on South Skagit Highway

Investigators say a vehicular homicide charge should be filed against the driver in a fatal single-car accident Friday on South Skagit Highway near Old Day Creek Road, according to a State Patrol press memo.

Angasan was discharged from the hospital after treatment and booked into Skagit County Jail, where he remains in custody with bail set at $500,000.

Sedro-Woolley man gets 14 years, 4 months for vehicular homicide

The Sedro-Woolley man who was found guilty April 24 of vehicular homicide in a 2015 car crash that killed Jeffrey P. Thomas was sentenced Thursday in Skagit County Superior Court to 14 years, 4 months in prison.     

One man was killed and another man injured in a Friday afternoon SUV accident on South Skagit Highway. The crash occurred when an SUV heading westbound exited the road, and the driver over-corrected, causing the SUV to roll.
