Two injured in crash with deer near Goldendale

Two people were injured when the car they were in hit a deer and went off the road near Goldendale this morning, the Washington State Patrol reported.

Ronald Bazzel was driving west on State Route 14 when a deer jumped into the path of the car. Bazzel's car struck the deer, then an embankment on the right side of the road. He was taken to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital while his passenger, 8-year-old Crystal Bezal, was taken to Mid-Columbia Medical Center. Their conditions were not known.
