Even though they do not anticipate filing criminal charges, Washington State Patrol detectives continue to investigate a fatal pedestrian crash that happened early Monday morning.

Northbound lanes of Interstate 5 in Woodland reopened after a fatal crash early this morning involving a tractor-trailer and a pedestrian, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Northbound lanes of Interstate 5 in Woodland reopened after a fatal crash early this morning involving a tractor-trailer and a pedestrian. The crash was reported at 2:09 a.m. when Phillip Reich, the 47-year-old Covington man driving the big rig called to report that he had hit someone. The tractor-trailer driver told investigators that he was driving in the right lane, saw reflection of taillights on the right shoulder and moved to the center lane and struck something. The 41-year-old male driver of the car, a Toyota Prius, was apparently in the center lane of the highway wearing dark clothes. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. He was later identified as Zeus Perez.
