Trooper slightly injured after crashes on slick I-5.

A Washington State Patrol trooper was taken to the hospital for minor injuries after a five-car collision on the slick roads of Interstate 5 Tuesday morning.

A Washington State Patrol trooper was taken to the hospital for minor injuries after a five-car collision on the slick roads of Interstate 5 Tuesday morning. Just before 6 a.m., the trooper was northbound on I-5 responding to a report of a car in the median on the left side of the freeway just south of Bow Hill Road. When the trooper pulled her vehicle over to the right shoulder to assist, she noticed a second vehicle in the ditch on the right side. A third vehicle then slid and crashed into the second one. With her emergency lights on, the trooper was in her car when a Toyota 4-Runner towing another vehicle attempted to switch from the right lane to the left lane, lost control and struck the trooper’s patrol car. The trooper, who was the only one injured, experienced soreness and was taken to Skagit Valley Hospital to be checked out. Francis said she was then released and taken home. Drugs and alcohol are not a factor for any of the drivers, Francis said.

Skagit County is growing in population, and with this growth comes increases in traffic, congestion, and accidents. At this link you can learn more about the issues related to Skagit car accidents and personal injury claims.
