The crash happened Sunday just before midnight on I-5 near 216th Ave. SW when the passenger in the victim vehicle reported that the car was overheating. The driver pulled over to the shoulder, and that's when the semi struck the vehicle, killing the driver, according to Washington State Patrol.

The semi-truck driver, a 36-year-old Yelm man, was arrested on investigation of vehicular homicide. Troopers suspect drugs or alcohol were involved.
