Man injured by debris while driving on I-5 in Pierce County, Washington

A man was injured Saturday afternoon after being struck by debris while driving, Washington State Patrol troopers said. The incident happened before 3 p.m., when the driver was traveling on the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 near DuPont. Troopers said debris went through the driver’s windshield and struck him in the head. The driver was taken to Tacoma General Hospital. His condition was unknown Saturday evening.
