Driver dies in Kent car crash after hitting tree

"This appears to be a tragic accident that will leave all who were involved devastated," said Sgt. Jarod Kasner.

One man was killed and another man injured when a car struck a tree in Kent at about 4:04 a.m. Friday in the 9200 block of South 208th Street. Both the driver and passenger are 20-year-old men from Kent. Their names have not yet been released by Kent Police. Kent Police are trying to determine what caused a man to drive off the road, although the investigation does not indicate the driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs, according to a Kent Police media release.
