Motorcyclist killed by alleged hit-and-run SUV driver
A 21-year-old Gig Harbor man died over the weekend after a 2003 Ford Excursion hit the motorcycle he was riding Saturday night near state Route 302 and 144th Street Northwest in Purdy.
Gig Harbor man is under arrest after his SUV collided with a motorcycle Saturday night and he allegedly fled the accident. The motorcyclist died at the scene near Purdy. The accident happened on State Route 302 in the 14500 block around 11 p.m. Saturday. The SUV was northbound on SR 302 with the motorcycle heading southbound in the opposite direction. The SUV turned left, colliding with the motorcycle. The SUV driver, a 43-year-old man, drove off from the accident scene. The State Patrol was able to locate and arrest the man about 3 1/2 hours later. The motorcyclist, a 21-year-old Gig Harbor man, has not been identified by the Pierce County medical examiner.What money damages are recoverable in a death claim?
