Motorcyclist killed in crash at Michigan Street off ramp

A 44-year-old man died after he lost control of his motorcycle and slammed into a guard rail on the Michigan Street off ramp on southbound Interstate 5 early Sunday.

A 44-year-old man died after he lost control of his motorcycle and slammed into a guard rail on the Michigan Street off ramp on southbound Interstate 5 early Sunday.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the man was traveling at a high-rate of speed when he struck the barrier and was thrown from his black 1987 Honda.

The accident happened at 1:20 a.m. The patrol said the off ramp was closed for two-and-a-half hours.

The rider was wearing his helmet at the time of the accident. The King County Medical Examiner is investigating whether alcohol or drugs were involved at the time of the accident.
