A man stole a truck at gunpoint downtown, fled from officers, crashed and then tried to steal other vehicles before being arrested near Boeing Field this afternoon, police said.

An adult male suspect stole a white Ford pickup truck from its driver at Second Avenue South and South King Street after threatening to kill him shortly after 1p.m., according to the Seattle Police Department. The man then fled southbound from Pioneer Square in the vehicle.

Officers located the suspect at Fourth Avenue South and South Holgate Street and attempted to stop him, but he failed to yield and sped southbound on Fourth Avenue South. They discontinued their pursuit on East Marginal Way South near Boeing Field.

The car rear-ended a Jeep at the intersection of South Boeing Access Road, East Marginal Way South and Tukwila International Boulevard, then the suspect fled from the crash scene and tried unsuccessfully to car-jack two other drivers. He then fled across the intersection on foot and into the parking lot of a nearby gas station.

An officer observed the suspect crash at the intersection and police officers converged on the scene. The man was arrested as he attempted to enter the gas station store.

The 41-year-old suspect was booked into the King County Jail for investigation of robbery.
