A woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after a Saturday afternoon crash on Polte Road.

A woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after a Saturday afternoon crash on Polte Road. The incident happened about 4:30 p.m., when Courtney Robinson, 19, was making a left turn out of her residence onto Polte Road heading westbound in a 2001 Kia Sportage. A 1991 Chevrolet K1 pickup, driven by Kenton Arendse, 22, of Sedro-Woolley, was heading eastbound at the time and struck Robinson’s SUV on the left side. Robinson was transported to Skagit Valley Hospital, where she underwent surgery. Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected.
