Patrick Lajko, 62, killed, after his motorcycle is rear-ended by a car at an intersection on the Vashon Highway on Vashon Island.

Part of Vashon Highway was blocked Saturday afternoon after a fatal collision between a car and a motorcycle. The collision happened at about 4:30 p.m. The King County Sheriff’s Office said the motorcyclist was stopped and waiting to make a left turn and was rear-ended by a vehicle. Investigators had to take a ferry to reach the scene. Ferry traffic was delayed. Deputies expected to have the highway blocked at least until 8 p.m.
